HAND CONTROLS AND SWITCHES
Hand Throttle Lever
The hand throttle lever, located behind the driving
wheel, on the right-hand side (4), has a concentric
pivot linkage system on the steering column, which
can be adjusted to the minimum (750+50) and
maximum (2320) RPM of the engine. See Figure 4.
Steering Wheel Positioning Lever
The steering wheel positioning lever is located under
the steering wheel, on the left-hand side (5) Figure 4.
By means of it, the steering wheel can be adjusted to
the position that is most comfortable to the operator.

Pressing the bottom switch (3) (turtle), Dual Power is
activated and the turtle symbol indicator light on the
instrument panel is illuminated.
CAUTION
For no reason should you attempt to start the
engine by pushing or towing the tractor. The
reason for this is that the pump will not be
lubricating the Dual Power and severe damage
can be caused.

WARNING
Do not pull from the lower links with the links
above the horizontal position. Always use the
drawbar or the lower links in the lowered position
for pull-type work, otherwise the tractor may
overturn rearwards.
NOTE: When supporting equipment on the drawbar,
ensure that the total weight on the rear axle does not
exceed the maximum static downward load or the rear
tire load capacity, whichever is lower. (See “Rear Tire
Pressure and Loads” in Section 3 - Specifications.

Safety Chain
IO
IMPORTANT: When transporting equipment on the
highway it is recommended that a safety chain 3

having a tensile strength equal to the gross weight of
the implement be installed between the tractor and 1

implement hitch. See the following test.
U
When towing implements on the highway, use a
safety chain, Figure 31, with a tension strength equal

to or greater that the gross weight of the implement
to be towed by the tractor. This will restrain the
O
implement if the hitch pin is displaced.

Steering Stops
Four steering stops are incorporated in the axle, two
at each end (see Figure 39). The stops are
adjustable and should be set to provide a minimum
clearance of 20 mm (0.75 in.) between the tires and
any part of the tractor on full left and right lock with the
axle fully articulated.
Figure 39 - Steering Stop

2. Stop bolt
3. Boss
OM16
To adjust, slacken the locknuts (1) Figure 39, and
N
turn the stop bolts (2) counterclockwise to reduce the 39
steering angle of the wheels or clockwise to increase
IO
the steering angle. Tighten the locknut to 150 Nám
(110 ft.-lbs.).
T
When on full left lock, the left-hand rear and right–
hand front stop bolts should contact the boss on the
C
axle casing simultaneously. Conversely, the left-
U
hand front and right-hand rear stop bolts should both
contact the boss when in the full right lock position.
D
Front Wheel Toe-In
After resetting the tractor width, the front wheel

Measure the distance between the wheel rims at hub
height at the front of the wheels. Rotate both front

wheels 180° and check the measurements again,
this time at the rear of the wheels. This will eliminate 40
wheel rim run-out errors. The correct toe-in setting is
0-6 mm (0 - 0.25 in.), i.e. the measurement take at the
T
front of the rims should be the same as the rear or be
smaller by up to 6 mm (0.25 in.).
O
Should it be necessary to adjust the front wheel
N
toe-in, proceed as follows:
Loosen the jam nut, (2) Figure 40, from each track
control rod (3). Use a wrench on the hexagon (1) to
screw the threaded section into or out of the track
control rod, as necessary.
Ensure that this adjustment is carried out equally on
both track rods in order to achieve the specified
toe-in. Tighten the jam nut to 56 Nám (41 ft.-lbs.).

SECTION 2 - LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE
• To facilitate moisture and sediment removal, a
drain plug should be provided at the lowest point
(at the opposite end to the outlet pipe).
• Fuel purchases should be arranged so that
summer grade fuels are not held over and used
in winter.
• Refill the fuel tank via the filler tube which is
located on the front, left-hand side of the
platform. If your tractor has an auxiliary fuel tank
it is filled via the filler tube on the front right-hand
side of platform.
HOOD

See Figure 1.

As you lift the hood, you will have access to
maintenance of the unit, as to: air filter, radiator
(coolant) oil cooler, engine oil, fuses, etc.

When finished, look at the cartridge against the light
from the I.D.; when you can see some light through
it, you will know that as much dust as possible was

eliminated.
O
CAUTION
Do NOT attempt to hit the cartridge against any
N
metal surfaces or the tractor tires, since you
might break the paper which would lead to the
entrance of dust into the combustion chambers,
and in a few hours, result in additional
consumption of engine oil.
When the hood is up, you have access to the coolant
bottle, so you can check the level.

SECTION 2 - LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE
If necessary, unscrew and remove the filler plug (1),
Figure 15, and top it with fresh oil to the upper mark
on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
NOTE: Dependent upon tractor specification, the
filler plug may be screwed straight into the rear axle
housing. If the filler cap is in the end of an extension
tube, as shown in Figure 13, then the G3/4 in. (3/4 in.
B.S.P.) tapping provided may be used for the
connection of a return hose from remote hydraulic
cylinders, etc.

WASHING THE FILTER SCREEN
Drain the fuel tanks. Unscrew and remove the drain
cock/tap supply and filter screen.
Clean the inside of the filter screen using a damp, 2
lint-free cloth. 1
After washing, rinse the element with low pressure
diesel fuel from the inside out, continue rinsing until
the diesel fuel runs free of dirt and is clear.
Allow the (element) filter screen to dry naturally
before reusing.
N
IMPORTANT: Never use fuel oil, gasoline, or solvent 35
to clean the filter screen, otherwise the filter screen
IO
may become damaged.
IMPORTANT: After washing the filter, dry completely

before installing. It is recommended that a new filter

be installed, and leave the one just washed for the
next service.
