Connecting universal drive shaft on tractor side
11 DANGER!
Never remove the safety devices (11) of the
universal drive shaft!
– Always check that all locks are securely
engaged before starting work with the
universal drive shaft.
12 – Attach securing chains (12) for the
universal drive shaft gear with the hook on
19 the machine and tractor.
• Clean PTO drive.
• Mount universal drive shaft on tractor. To do so:
Universal drive shaft with QS lock (C):
– Pull back draw sleeve until it remains in open
position.
– Slide universal drive shaft onto the tractor PTO
drive until QS lock automatically snaps into
C D place in the ring groove.
Universal drive shaft with AS lock (D):
– Pull back draw sleeve and slide universal drive
shaft onto the machine PTO drive until the lock
snaps into place in the ring groove.
74145 20 • Check that the lock has engaged securely.
• Prevent the universal drive shaft from moving by
attaching securing chain (12)!
• Check profile overlap of universal drive shaft in all
operating states – see Check profile overlap,
page 7.6.
If necessary, correct length – see Shortening uni-
versal drive shaft, page 7.7.
During transport and when drive is shut off, there
must be a profile overlap of min. 100 mm.

Prior to operation
Driving on public roads
• The applicable laws and regulations must be
observed when travelling on public roads!
• For the Federal Republic of Germany, the
“Straßenverkehrszulassungsordnung” (StVZO)
applies.
The corresponding national (country-specific) pro-
visions apply in other countries.
• The ground speed must match the traffic and road
conditions. Observe national (country-specific)
provisions concerning the maximum permitted
ground speed!
Maximum permitted speed 40 km/h.
Reduce speed accordingly on bends.
• Prepare machine for transport – see Prior to
transportation, page 7.18.
• If necessary, connect the driving lights to the trac-
tor.

1 (B03/0020)
Order no.: 0936 124.0
High cutting runners with a height of 30 mm can be
installed for high cutting or for operating on aggressive
types of ground.
The high cutting runners (1) are mounted on the right
and the left on the cutterbar skids.
(Fig. 46)

Check V-belts
After first operation of the mower unit, check the V-belt
tension after the first 5 operating hours. Then, check
1 the V-belt tension regularly.
• Open side panel – see Side panel, page 9.32.
• Check the v-belts of the (1) conditioner regularly
for wear, breaks or other damage, and replace if
necessary.

Maintenance
NOTE!
The mower blades for anticlockwise and clock-
wise rotating cutting discs are different. During
mower blade assembly, observe the direction of
rotation!
The arrow on the mower blade must correspond
to the direction of rotation of the relevant cutting
disc.
40 (Fig. 40)
• Insert new mower blade (8) with the sharp edge
downwards.
• Alternatively, rotate mower blade, if the second
edge is still unused and insert with the sharp edge
downwards.
(Fig. 41)

• Disengage assembly lever (7).
DANGER!
High risk of injury due to mower blades
becoming loose!
– Ensure correct fit of mower blades and
mower blade retaining bolt.
The mower blade retaining bolt (11) must
be adjacent (see arrow) and lie straight in
7 the holder hole of the cutting disc (6).
