Use the float position of the lift arms to level loose
material while driving backward.
Push the bottom (heel) of the lift pedal to unlock from
the float position.

Bucket Position Valve Operation (If Equipped)
The function of the bucket position valve is to keep the
bucket in the same approximate position it is placed in
before beginning the upward lift cycle.

only.
The bucket positioning function can be turned OFF with
the bucket level switch. (See Page 3.)

ATTACHMENTS AND BUCKETS
A
NOTE: Warranty is void if non–approved
attachments are used on the Bobcat loader.
Never use attachments or buckets which are
not approved by Bobcat Company. Buckets
and attachments for safe loads of specified
densities are approved for each model.
Unapproved attachments can cause injury or
B–06587
death. W–2052–1285
The dealer can identify, for each model loader, the
attachments and buckets approved by Bobcat Company.
The buckets and attachments are approved for rated
operating capacity and for secure fastening to the
Bob–Tach.
The rated operating capacity for this loader is shown on
a label in the operator cab. (See SPECIFICATIONS Page
87.) It is determined by using a standard dirt bucket, and AVOID INJURY OR DEATH
material of normal density, such as dirt or dry gravel. If
longer buckets are used, the load center moves forward Do not exceed Rated Operating Capacity.
and reduces the rated operating capacity. If very dense Excessive load can cause tipping or loss of
material is loaded, the volume must be reduced. control. W–2053–0887
Exceeding the rated operating capacity [A] can cause the
following problems:
1. Steering the loader may be difficult.
2. Tires will wear faster.
B WEIGHT OF LOADS LBS. (KG)
(Without counterweights)
3. There will be a loss of stability.
4. The life of the Bobcat loader will be reduced.
705 (320)
800 (360)
Use the correct size bucket for the type and density of
material being handled. For safe handling of materials
and avoiding machine damage, the attachment (or
bucket) should handle a full load without going over the
rated operating capacity for the loader. Partial loads make
steering more difficult.
Maximum load to be carried when using a pallet fork are
shown in figure [B]. See your Bobcat dealer for more
information about pallet forks and other available 15.75 (400)
attachments.

TRANSPORTING THE BOBCAT LOADER
A
Adequately designed ramps of sufficient
strength are needed to support the weight of
the machine when loading onto a transport
vehicle. Wood ramps can break and cause
personal injury.
W–2058–0494
SUPPORT
MC–01241
When a loader has an empty bucket or no attachment,
always drive backward onto the transport vehicle [A].
The rear of the trailer must be blocked or supported [A]
when loading or unloading the loader to prevent the front
B
end of the trailer from raising up.
Be sure the transport and towing vehicles are of adequate
size and capacity. (See SPECIFICATIONS Page 87, for
weight of loader.)
Use the following procedure to fasten the Bobcat loader
to the transport vehicle to prevent the loader from moving
during sudden stops or when going up or down slopes [B].
• Lower the bucket or attachment to the floor.
P–05090 P–05077
• Stop the engine.
• Engage the parking brake.
• Install chains at the front and rear loader tie down
positions (Inset) [B].
• Fasten each end of the chain to the transport vehicle.
TOWING THE LOADER
To prevent damage to the loaders hydrostatic system, tow
the loader only a short distance at slow speed. (Example:
Moving the loader onto a transport vehicle).
The towing chain (or cable) must be rated at 1 & 1/2 times
the weight of the loader. (See SPECIFICATIONS Page
87.)
• Turn the key switch to ON and press the traction
lock override button.
• Tow the Bobcat at 2 MPH (3,2 km/hr) or less for not MC–01242
more than 25 feet (7,6 meters). 6707867
If the electrical system is not functioning, contact your
Bobcat loader dealer. (Part of the brake system must be
disassembled to move the loader.)

the grab handles to lower the cab.
Pull down on the bottom of the operator cab until it stops
at the latching mechanism.
Release the latching mechanism and pull the cab all the
way down [A].
With Mechanical Hand Controls Only: Move the control
linkage from the top hole to the BOTTOM hole (work
position) on the control handle (both sides) [B].
P–03561
Install the plate and nut (both sides) [C]. C
Tighten the nuts to 40–50 ft.–lbs. (54–68 Nm) torque.
Use care when raising or lowering the operator
cab to prevent damaging the shaft of the lift arm
by–pass control.

Diesel fuel or hydraulic fluid under pressure
can penetrate skin or eyes, causing serious P–10315
injury or death. Fluid leaks under pressure may
not be visible. Use a piece of cardboard or wood
to find leaks. Do not use your bare hand. Wear
safety goggles. If fluid enters skin or eyes, get

immediate medical attention from a physician
familiar with this injury.
W–2072–0496
Open the vent (Item 1) [A] on the fuel filter housing.
Operate the hand pump (priming bulb) (Item 2) [A] until
fuel flows from the vent with no air bubbles.
Close the vent (Item 1) [A] on the fuel filter housing.
Open the vent (Item 1) [B] on the fuel injection pump.
P–10316
Operate the hand pump (priming bulb) (Item 2) [A] until
the pump feels solid.
Tighten the vent plug [B].
Start the engine. It may be necessary to open the vent
plug (at the fuel injection pump) briefly until the engine
runs smoothly.
